The San Jacintos, San Gabriels, and San Bernardinos are a better bet for water this year, although even there a lot of the usual sources are dry. I'll have to check out your trip report when I get a chance.

HJHikin' Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01554269915148144573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805100829126623437.post-29508507713012192912015-05-02T13:57:01.190-07:002015-05-02T13:57:01.190-07:00Great trip report. Trails are very steep, not well-maintained or signed. Fishermans Camp is a nice area and relatively uncrowded. We were the only car at the trailhead (although there are other trailheads). The roads are far better to Fishermans Camp to Holy Jim although the drive is longer. I think Fishermans Camp would be most interesting after a recent rain or in a wet year.

HJHikin' Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01554269915148144573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805100829126623437.post-81680541176556620452015-03-22T21:28:50.624-07:002015-03-22T21:28:50.624-07:00Looks like a relatively uncrowded area. How would you say it compares to the Holy Jim Falls area that we visited together in January?KimSuBokhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10835817417974801745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805100829126623437.post-8789032459810952762015-03-22T20:42:44.946-07:002015-03-22T20:42:44.946-07:00Yes, poison oak is lovely – until you get it. I saw a lot of young people hiking in shorts and stuff even though the PO hangs out over the trails. I'm a long pants kind of guy in that kind of brush.

HJ Hikin' Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01554269915148144573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805100829126623437.post-48428676740179154242015-03-22T20:25:11.082-07:002015-03-22T20:25:11.082-07:00"However, there was no water in the creek for..."However, there was no water in the creek for us to boil, so we just boiled some of our drinking water that we had carried."

What a shame! But at least you got some poison oak. :) I love poison oak provided it's at a distance, the lush green leaves are perfect to gaze upon as one walks along. Provided it's at a distance. :)Ferdshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05333859140984590386noreply@blogger.com
